Laser acne treatment with Fotona Nd:YAG

Inflammatory acne treated with a long-pulsed Nd:YAG 1064 nm laser at our clinics in central Warsaw and Mokotów. The procedure targets the sebaceous glands and inflammatory lesions without damaging the skin surface, so there is no downtime.

Consultations and treatments are carried out in English. Both clinics are a short walk from a metro station.

How it works

Three mechanisms, one session

Selective photothermolysis

The 1064 nm wavelength is absorbed deep in the skin and delivers heat to the sebaceous glands, reducing their activity.

Sebum and bacteria

Heat lowers sebum production and limits the environment in which C. acnes multiplies.

Antiseptic effect

The thermal effect supports the reduction of inflammation in active lesions.

The skin is cooled throughout the session with the Cryo6 system, which improves comfort and protects the epidermis.

Who it is for

What we treat

Active inflammatory acne

Papules and pustules, including cases where topical treatment has not brought the expected result.

Acne on the back and chest

Areas that are difficult to treat topically and often left untreated.

Rosacea and redness

Treated with the same platform — we combine protocols during one course.

Post-acne scarring

Assessed separately; scar work usually follows once inflammation is under control.

Treatments are performed by a cosmetologist or a doctor. You start with a free consultation, where a specialist assesses your skin and confirms the treatment is suitable. If your case calls for a broader medical view, you are referred to one of our doctors — some forms of acne need pharmacological treatment first, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Clinical evidence

What the research shows on Nd:YAG 1064 nm

The studies below concern Nd:YAG 1064 nm technology — the mechanism shared by this treatment. They describe results reported in the literature, not a promise of an individual outcome.

RCT · split-face

Inflammatory lesions

A randomised trial comparing fractional CO2 with long-pulsed Nd:YAG 1064 nm reported roughly 70% improvement in inflammatory lesions after the third session and about 86% at three-month follow-up for Nd:YAG.

Prospective · split-face

Inflammatory acne

A prospective randomised split-face study assessed long-pulsed Nd:YAG 1064 nm in inflammatory acne in adolescents and adults, reporting a significant reduction in lesions.

Case series

Active acne

A case series evaluated quasi-long-pulsed (micropulsed) Nd:YAG 1064 nm in active acne and documented improvement.

The appointment

How a session runs

1 · Medical interview

We review your history, current medication and skin condition, and confirm there are no contraindications.

2 · Cleansing and disinfection

The area is cleansed and prepared before the laser is applied.

3 · Laser pass with Cryo6 cooling

The Nd:YAG handpiece is passed over the area while cold air protects the epidermis.

4 · Straight back to your day

Mild redness may last a few hours. No dressings, no recovery period.

The session is carried out by a cosmetologist or a doctor. Aftercare: sun protection SPF 50 for the following days, no sauna or intense exercise for 24 hours. The number of sessions is set individually at the consultation.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you speak English at the clinic?

Yes. Consultations, treatments and aftercare instructions are provided in English.

Does it hurt?

Most patients describe a warm, prickling sensation. The Cryo6 system cools the skin continuously, which makes the session comfortable without anaesthetic.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the severity and extent of the acne. The number is set at the consultation — we do not sell fixed packages before assessing your skin.

Is there any downtime?

No. Redness may last a few hours. You can return to work the same day.

Can I have it done in summer?

Yes, provided you avoid sun exposure on the treated area and use SPF 50. We will discuss timing at the consultation.

Can it be combined with medication?

Some acne medications, in particular oral isotretinoin, affect eligibility. Tell us what you are taking at the consultation — if your case needs a physician's assessment, we arrange it before any treatment.

How do I pay?

Card and cash are accepted at both clinics. Prices are in Polish złoty (PLN).
