A non-surgical, lasting reduction of localised fat deposits — where diet and exercise haven't helped. Performed by a doctor in central Warsaw: chin, abdomen, thighs, arms.
Injection lipolysis is a treatment that reduces localised fat deposits using needle mesotherapy with a lipolytic preparation. The resulting chemical reaction destroys fat cells, dissolving the fatty tissue. The liquefied fat cells are transported to the liver and then eliminated from the body through natural metabolic processes.
Injection lipolysis, also known as intralipotherapy, is a lasting, effective, non-surgical treatment for reducing localised fat deposits. The treatment involves injecting a lipolytic preparation directly into the fatty tissue, most often based on two core ingredients: phosphatidylcholine (a naturally occurring lecithin in the body — a carrier for active substances) and sodium deoxycholate (a bile salt and fat detergent), along with additional ingredients such as L-carnitine, artichoke extract or organic silicon. These ingredients have been used in medicine for many years. When introduced into fatty tissue, they dissolve the membranes of fat cells, breaking them down into triglycerides and free fatty acids.
Injection lipolysis is a gentler, less invasive alternative to surgical liposuction that places less strain on the body. It requires no surgical procedure or recovery time and does not take the patient out of their daily routine.
We have been performing lipolysis since 2016 — one of the longest-standing localised fat reduction methods in our offering.

Sodium deoxycholate and phosphatidylcholine break down the membranes of fat cells at the injection site.
Adipocytes break down into triglycerides and free fatty acids — the effect is lasting.
Over several weeks, the liquefied fat is transported to the liver and eliminated through natural pathways.
We use this treatment for 2 indications. It works a little differently for each — below we explain what it specifically does in each case.
The only one of three methods that actually removes fat tissue — the lipolytic preparation destroys fat cells, which the body then eliminates. This is the right choice when there is palpable excess fat under the chin, rather than skin laxity alone.
02Injections allow precise treatment of small, well-defined areas that no applicator can reach — around the knees, arms, or individual rolls of fat. For larger body areas, device-based methods will be more convenient.

One of the active ingredients in lipolytic preparations is deoxycholic acid (deoxycholate). Its effectiveness in reducing submental fat has been confirmed by large clinical trials.
In the phase III trial programme for deoxycholic acid injections (ATX-101), a clinical response was achieved by 61% (moderate excess) to 89% (severe excess) of patients versus placebo.
ATX-101 review, 2016. PubMed →After injection, deoxycholic acid physically disrupts adipocyte membranes, triggering local adipocytolysis and a tissue repair response.
Tissue response, 2023. PubMed →A randomised, placebo-controlled phase III trial confirmed a significant improvement in submental fat reduction following a series of injections.
Phase III trial, 2019. PubMed →The cited studies relate to ATX-101 (a specific deoxycholic acid formulation). Preparations used in injection lipolysis are based on sodium deoxycholate and phosphatidylcholine — the conclusions apply at the level of the active substances, not a specific product. Lipolysis is not a treatment for obesity; results are individual.
Before the treatment, the doctor conducts a health interview, measures the skin-fat fold, and takes photographic documentation marking the areas to be treated. The treatment itself involves several injections of the preparation into the fatty tissue with a very fine needle and takes about 30 minutes. It is practically painless, and can be performed under local anaesthesia at the patient's request.
Assessment of the skin-fat fold, qualification and photographic documentation.
The doctor marks the areas to be treated with lipolysis.
Several injections with a fine needle into the fatty tissue, approx. 30 minutes.
Repeated every 4 weeks until the desired result is achieved.
After the treatment, the patient may experience mild itching, burning, swelling and tenderness at the treated site — this is an expected reaction indicating that the preparation is working and fat cells are breaking down. Redness and bruising at the injection sites may also occur. The reaction resolves on its own within a few days. Daily activities can be resumed immediately; physical activity after a few days.
For the best results, a course of 1 to 5 sessions is recommended for a given area, at 4-week intervals. The doctor recommends the full treatment plan during the initial consultation.
The body's reaction (swelling, tenderness, minor bruising) is expected and indicates that the preparation is working. A few simple rules support the effect and your comfort.
Drink plenty of water — it supports metabolism and the body's elimination of dissolved fat.
You can return to your daily activities right away; postpone intense exercise for a few days.
Healthy eating supports maintaining the result — lipolysis does not replace a healthy diet.
Swelling, tenderness and minor bruising are a normal reaction; they resolve within a few days.
The best results come from a full course of 1–5 sessions at 4-week intervals.

„I had injection lipolysis on my chin, and after just the second session you could already see something happening. The whole process was explained very thoroughly, and everything went calmly and without stress. I recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to go under the knife straight away.” (translated from Polish)
Hanna Wiśniewska · 2025review from Google„I decided to try Aqualyx injection lipolysis, and subtle effects were visible after just the first session. I liked that everything was discussed thoroughly beforehand, without any rush. The treatment itself was quick, and the staff were very tactful and helpful. Total comfort.” (translated from Polish)
Dagmara Kruszczyńska · 2025review from Google„I always leave happy. A really lovely place to take care of your skin.” (translated from Polish)
Sabina Walecka · 2025review from GoogleEach case is assessed individually by the doctor during the medical interview. Main contraindications:
Yes. Dissolved fat cells break down and are eliminated from the body, so the reduction in the treated area is lasting. However, maintaining the result depends on lifestyle — with significant weight gain, the remaining fat cells can enlarge.
A course of 1 to 5 sessions is usually recommended for a given area, performed roughly every 4 weeks. The doctor determines the exact number during your consultation, depending on the amount of fatty tissue and your expectations. The effect builds up between sessions.
The treatment is practically painless — it involves a few injections with a very fine needle. It can be performed under local anaesthesia at the patient's request. Afterwards, tenderness, burning and swelling of the treated area may be felt, resolving within a few days.
No. Injection lipolysis is used to reduce localised fat deposits that persist despite diet and exercise. The best results are achieved by people with a normal body weight or mild overweight. It is not a treatment for extensive obesity.
The price starts from 500 zł per session and depends on the treated area and the number of sessions in the course. The doctor provides the final pricing and treatment plan after the consultation. The full price list is available on our pricing page; consultations can be booked online.
The first results become visible a few weeks after the treatment, once the body has eliminated the dissolved fat. The effect builds up over the course of the series and is most visible once it is complete. The pace is individual and depends on metabolism and the treated area.
Aesthetic medicine treatments at Velvet Velvet Skin Clinic are performed exclusively by qualified doctors — with relevant medical education, postgraduate studies in aesthetic medicine, and clinical experience.
