FOR MEN
Laser hair removal · for men

Back, nape,
chest, beard.

Shaving your back gives you two days of effect, then everything is back where it started — often with irritation on top. Laser hair removal targets the follicle, not the hair above the skin. For men this is often not cosmetics but a way of managing folliculitis after shaving.

Number of sessions
6–10

Depends on the area and hair thickness. 6–10 weeks between sessions.

Treatment time
15–45 min

Nape 15 minutes, full back with chest up to 45.

Back to work
Same day

Redness usually settles within hours. No dressings, no sick leave.

How long it lasts
Years

After a full series, what remains is usually a single, finer hair. Maintenance sessions 1–2× a year.

The ranges refer to male treatment areas and come from our own practice — the exact number of sessions is set after examining your skin and hair at a consultation. Results are individual.

01 — What it costsThe price per area and the price of the full series

The price list is right here,
before you book.

Below are the areas men ask about. A single treatment makes sense as a trial — what really counts is the cost of the full series, so we list both.

Thunder Quanta — single areas

Chest / torso400 zł
Nape / neck350 zł

Four-area package

Back + lower back + chest + nape

900 zł — one session, all four areas.

3 200 zł — package of 4 sessions (200 zł per area).

4 200 zł — package of 6 sessions (175 zł per area).

The scope of the series is set after assessing your skin and hair — the 6-session package matches a typical series for the back. Prices apply at both clinics. Full price list (in Polish): laser hair removal price list.

02 — Continuity of the seriesParameters stored in your record, not in someone's memory

You will not have to tell
your story from scratch.

After every session, the parameters used — energy, pulse length, how your skin reacted — go into your treatment record. At the next visit, the person treating you has the record of all previous sessions in front of them, not just what you happen to remember.

This matters, because laser settings are chosen based on how your skin responded last time. If your cosmetologist changes mid-series — and that happens — the series continues from where it left off, instead of dropping back to cautious settings. Continuity comes from documentation, not from the staff rota.

At the first visit we do a patch test on a small area and only then set the parameters for the full zone. The result of the test goes into your record too.

03 — What makes it differentWhy it is done differently for men

This is not the same procedure
as for women.

01

Ingrown hairs after shaving are a condition of their own

Pseudofolliculitis barbae — follicle inflammation caused by hair growing back into the skin after shaving — affects up to one in five Caucasian individuals and is more common in Black skin. In severe forms, photoepilation is described as the treatment of choice, not a cosmetic procedure.

PMID 21034705 · 30909328
02

Darker skin needs different settings

For darker phototypes, diode and Nd:YAG lasers are the safe choice, used at conservative fluences with longer pulses. Shortcut settings are a route to burns and pigmentation changes, not to faster results.

03

Different area, different hair, different series

Hair on the back and nape is thicker and sits deeper than on the limbs — which is why a male series can be longer than a female one, with bigger gaps between sessions. We do not sell a package before we have seen the hair.

An observation from our practice — not a study result
The equipment we work on

Thunder Quanta — a triple-wavelength laser (alexandrite, diode, Nd:YAG). The Nd:YAG allows safe work on darker phototypes where an alexandrite would be risky.

LightSheer Duet — an 805 nm diode laser with a large handpiece that shortens treatments on big areas. On a back, that is a real difference in how long the visit takes.

We match the device to your phototype and area, not the other way round. The machine is a tool — the outcome depends on the parameters and the person setting them.

04 — Step by stepWhat happens from walking in to walking out

If you are not sure you want this
— this section is for you.

Consultation and patch test

We examine your skin and hair, ask about photosensitising medication and tanning. We test a stamp-sized patch and wait several minutes.

Shaving the area

The area needs to be shaved on the day of the treatment — the laser works on the follicle, not the hair above the skin. You can do it at the clinic.

The treatment

It feels like the snap of a rubber band plus warmth. The handpiece cools the skin as it goes. No anaesthesia, no needles.

Walking out

Redness and slight swelling around the follicles — it usually settles within hours. You put your shirt on and go back to work.

What to avoid for the first days: sauna, pool and gym until the redness settles; no sun or tanning beds for four weeks before and after. Sunscreen on exposed areas is a must.

When you will see the effect: hairs from the treated area shed within 1–3 weeks. The area is not empty after the first session — the laser only works on follicles in the growth phase, which is why it takes a series.

05 — RisksWhat can go wrong

We say this out loud,
before you pay.

Redness and follicle swelling — expected, not a complication. Settles within hours to a day.
Burns, hyper- or hypopigmentation — most often after treating tanned skin or with overly aggressive parameters. That is why we ask about tanning and do a patch test. The test and conservative fluences lower the risk — they do not remove it entirely.
Folliculitis — usually after hitting the sauna or gym too soon after a session.
Paradoxical hair growth — a rare regrowth phenomenon at the edges of the treated area, described mainly on the face and neck. If it appears, we change the strategy rather than turning the power up.

What this treatment will NOT do: it will not remove grey or very fair hair — the laser needs melanin in the follicle. It will not deliver a result after one session. It does not replace diagnostics if excess hair appeared suddenly — in that case we look for the cause first.

When we decline to treat: a fresh tan, an active skin infection in the area, photosensitising medication, isotretinoin in recent months, unexplained pigmented lesions in the treatment field.

06 — EvidenceHow we know it works
Clinical review

Photoepilation for ingrown hairs

In severe pseudofolliculitis barbae, photoepilation is described as the treatment of choice — removing the follicle removes the cause, not the symptom.

Parameters and safety

Darker phototypes — choosing the laser

For darker phototypes, diode and Nd:YAG lasers at conservative fluences and longer pulses are recommended, lowering the risk of burns and pigmentation changes.

The cited papers describe the method, not our own results. Outcomes are individual and depend on phototype, hormonal balance and whether the series is completed.
07 — Discretion and logisticsSpecifics, not declarations

You do not have to tell
anyone about this.

A closed treatment room

The treatment takes place in a room with the door closed. There is no shared treatment hall.

Off-peak hours

Most men choose 10:00–11:00 and 20:00. At 20:00 men make up 9.4% of visits versus 2.3% among women — it is the quietest time of day. Data from the Świętokrzyska schedule, June–August 2026. Gender estimated from first names — the clinic does not register gender.

08 — QuestionsWhat men actually ask

FAQ

Will people see I had something done?

Right after the session the area is red with small swellings around the follicles — invisible under a shirt, and on exposed skin it usually settles within hours. The end result is simply no hair, not a change in how your skin looks.

When can I go back to work and what should I skip?

You go back to work the same day, with no dressings and no sick leave. For the first days, skip the sauna, pool and gym until the redness settles. For four weeks before and after — no sun and no tanning beds.

What can go wrong and how often?

The most common effects are temporary redness and follicle swelling — an expected reaction. The more serious ones, burns and pigmentation changes, happen mainly after treating tanned skin or with overly aggressive parameters. That is why we do a patch test and ask about tanning.

What does the full series cost, not just one session?

The most common male scope — back, lower back, chest and nape — is 3 200 zł for a package of four sessions or 4 200 zł for six. A single session of those four areas costs 900 zł. Single areas start from 200 zł.

Is it done differently for men than for women?

Yes. Hair on the back and nape is thicker and sits deeper, so the series can be longer and the gaps bigger. Ingrown hairs after shaving the beard and neck are a separate matter — in severe forms, photoepilation is described as the treatment of choice, not a cosmetic procedure.

What if I do not like the result?

Laser hair removal is irreversible in the sense that a destroyed follicle does not come back. That is why we start with a patch test and a single area rather than the whole back — if the result is not for you, you stop the series and the rest stays untouched.

Do I have to call, or can I book online?

You can book the entire appointment online, separately for Świętokrzyska and for Mokotów. A phone call is not needed at any stage — including cancelling or moving the appointment.
