02 — About the treatment

Laser treatment for broken capillaries and redness — Fotona

Laser capillary closure is based on selective photothermolysis: the energy of the Fotona™ laser is absorbed by haemoglobin — the pigment of blood. The absorbed energy turns into heat, which coagulates (closes) the vessel; over time it is absorbed by the body. The Fotona laser is a platform that treats a wide range of vascular lesions at different depths — from fine red capillaries to larger, single vessels. It treats redness and dilated capillaries on the face, spider veins on the legs, cherry angiomas, flat and raised haemangiomas, vascular birthmarks and rosacea, including in its inflammatory phase.

Fotona laser vs Dye-VL (IPL) — which treatment for capillaries

For larger, deeper vessels and single lesions, the Fotona (Nd:YAG) laser is usually more effective. For diffuse, fine redness and delicate capillaries, Dye-VL (IPL) photorejuvenation also delivers good results. If rosacea as a medical condition is your main concern, see also laser acne treatment. The optimal method is selected by a specialist during a consultation.

04 — How the laser works on capillaries

How laser capillary closure works

01

Selective photothermolysis

The laser's energy is absorbed by haemoglobin and turns into heat, which closes (coagulates) the vessel.

02

FRAC3 and VERSA

Combining the FRAC3 pulse (working at different skin depths) with VERSA (a short, high-power pulse) treats both superficial and deeper lesions.

03

Vessel resorption

The closed vessel is gradually removed by the body and the skin regains an even tone.

During the treatment the skin is cooled with a Cryo6 cooler, so discomfort and pain sensations are kept to a minimum. On the day of the treatment the skin may be red and slightly swollen — this usually subsides within 1–2 days.

09 — The procedure

What the treatment looks like step by step

The procedure begins with a detailed review of your medical history and ruling out contraindications. The skin is then cleansed, make-up is removed and the treatment is carried out. The skin is cooled with a Cryo6 cooler, so any discomfort is kept to a minimum. On the day of the treatment the skin may be red and slightly swollen — this settles within 1–2 days at most. Usually 1 to 4 sessions are needed, repeated monthly.

10 — Aftercare

Aftercare recommendations — capillaries and redness

You can return to your normal routine straight after the treatment. On the day of the treatment the skin may be red and slightly swollen; larger vessels may briefly become more visible before they are absorbed. Sun protection and avoiding factors that dilate blood vessels matter most.

Protect your skin from the sun

Use SPF 30–50+ and avoid tanning for a few weeks after the treatment.

Avoid dilating the vessels

For a few days, skip the sauna, hot baths, intense exercise and alcohol.

Gentle skincare

Keep peels, retinol and strong actives away from the treated area.

Moisturise your skin

A light moisturiser supports skin recovery and comfort.

Stick to the plan

Results build over 1–4 sessions about a month apart — as advised by your specialist.

Frequently asked questions — laser treatment for capillaries and redness

How does laser capillary closure work?

It is a non-surgical closure of dilated vessels with a laser. The laser's energy is absorbed by haemoglobin and turns into heat, which coagulates the vessel. The closed vessel is then gradually absorbed by the body and the skin regains an even tone.

Does the laser remove capillaries on the legs and on the face?

Yes. The laser treats telangiectasia and redness on the face as well as spider veins and fine capillaries on the legs. Larger, deeper vessels are treated with the Nd:YAG laser, while Dye-VL (IPL) photorejuvenation also works well for diffuse, fine redness.

How many sessions are needed to close the capillaries?

Usually 1 to 4 sessions, repeated monthly. The number depends on the type, size and depth of the lesions and on the skin's individual response. The exact plan is set by a specialist based on the starting condition and the results of the therapy.

Does the capillary treatment hurt?

Discomfort is minimal. The skin is cooled with a Cryo6 cooler, which minimises any pain sensations. Patients describe the treatment as a series of short, warm pulses. Anaesthesia is usually unnecessary.

Does the laser help with rosacea and redness?

Yes. Laser vessel closure effectively reduces the erythema and telangiectasia that accompany rosacea, including in its inflammatory phase. If rosacea is your dominant concern, see also our dedicated laser acne treatment.

How much does laser capillary treatment cost in Warsaw?

Prices start from 150 zł and depend on the size of the area and the number of lesions. We agree the exact quote during a consultation. You will find the full price list on our pricing page, and you can book a consultation online or by phone.
